The Government Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (GHMCH), located in Thirumangalam, Madurai District, Tamil Nadu, is a prestigious government institution dedicated to the promotion of homoeopathic education and healthcare. Established in 1975, it is the only government-run homoeopathic medical college in Tamil Nadu, playing a key role in providing affordable education and treatment in the field of homoeopathy. GHMCH is recognized by the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), New Delhi, approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.

Courses Offered

B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

  • Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years academic + 1-year compulsory rotatory internship)
  • Annual Intake: 50 seats


Eligibility Criteria

. 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved categories)

. NEET-UG qualification mandatory

. Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission
